  • Dear Lindsay,

Dear Lindsay, I wanted to write simply to let you know that there are people thinking about you with compassion. I have struggled with mental health issues myself, and I know how exhausting, confusing, and isolating it can be to try to navigate the mental health system when you are already having a hard time. There have been times in my own life when I have felt overwhelmed by the process of trying to understand what I was feeling, what treatment might help, and how to keep moving forward. I can’t pretend to understand everything you have lived through, but I do understand what it is like to need help and to feel vulnerable while trying to find it. I hope there are moments when you are reminded that you are still a human being worthy of compassion, dignity, and kindness. I hope you have people around you who treat you gently and help you carry what feels impossible to carry alone. You do not need to have all the answers today. You do not need to know what every day ahead will look like. I just hope you can find small moments of peace, connection, and hope wherever they are available to you. You are being thought of with kindness. Michael
